Programme Information and Aims
The Master of Arts in Urban Development and Practice (MAUDP) is a one-year, practice-oriented programme taught in Chinese. It is tailored for students from diverse backgrounds who aim to pursue a career in the field of urban development and practice, focusing on sustainability and informatics. This programme is designed to meet the needs of the increasingly diverse urbanization happening in the Greater Bay Area. The programme seamlessly blends theoretical knowledge, research, and practical skills, with a strong emphasis on cultivating the capacity to devise and execute impactful urban development projects. Through this hands-on approach, graduates are equipped with the essential expertise to readily immerse themselves in urban development initiatives upon programme completion.
課程特色與結構

Programme Features and Structure
The curriculum integrates various disciplines including urbanism, architecture, informatics, community development, smart cities, real estate economics, and the social and cultural aspects of urban development. It places a strong emphasis on urban sustainability and informatics. Central to the programme is the enhancement of students’ practical skills, notably through the mandatory capstone project, which offers students the opportunity to apply the theoretical knowledge and practical skills gained throughout the programme to real-world urban scenarios. Through this hands-on experience, students develop essential research, analysis, and strategic formulation skills essential for effective urban practice. This preparation positions them to pursue career opportunities in the field of urban development and practice.
畢業前景
城市發展和實踐文學碩士畢業生可申請加入香港、大灣區及以外區域的政府部門、非政府機構、諮詢及顧問公司，協助及從事相關的城市實踐、管理、行政、社區發展、項目管理等工作。
Career Path
Graduates of Master of Arts in Urban Development and Practice can apply to work in governments, NGOs, consultancies or practices in Hong Kong, Greater Bay Area and beyond to assist and engage in the fields of urban practice, management, administration, community development, project management, etc.
