David Booth

Mr. David Booth specializes in architectural theory and history, together with all aspects of construction technology, including most particularly architectural detailing, material specifications and acoustics. He is a member of the Hong Kong Institute of Acoustics. He taught architecture at the University of Hong Kong School of Architecture from 2003 to 2006, before working as a Project Manager for the Venetian Sands Corporation in Macau, delivering the 1800-seat theatre for the Cirque du Soleil in the Venetian Hotel Resort. He ran an interior design course for HKU ‘Space’ between 2010 and 2012, and has given lectures on Architecture and Acoustics to that faculty.
Prior to 2003, Mr. Booth was a Senior Architect with the Hong Kong Government Architectural Services Department for over 20 years, and was the architect designer for many of Hong Kong’s major auditoria during that era. Mr. Booth currently practices as a Consultant in Architectural Room Acoustics.
Mr. Booth also has in-depth expertise in selected aspects of performance literature, performance art, and the architecture of performance spaces.
