Dr. Kevin Yim is an associate professor and a licensed architect. Dr. Yim was an associate professor at the Department of Architecture and Urban Design, University of Kyushu, Japan. He studied at the Hiroshi Hara and Akira Fujii Laboratory with the Monbusho scholarship, and obtained his Ph.D. from the University of Tokyo. As a recipient of various Japanese research grants including the JSPS Research Fund and Japan Scientist Research Fund, he has developed his research on sustainable building material. Dr. Yim began his professional design career working in Toyo Ito & Associates before joining Nikken Sekkei Architects in Japan. His works were recognized by a number of Japanese architectural awards including the SD Review. His recent practice-research involves wooden architecture and furniture with BIM Revit.
